Dear Colleagues,
We welcome you to Coimbatore to a one of its kind multidisciplinary, collaborative and interactive workshop on orbital and periorbital injuries. Injuries to the orbit and periorbital structures need to be well evaluated and optimally treated for good results. Secondary post traumatic deformities are even more challenging to treat and may yield less than satisfactory results if not comprehensively addressed. A dichotomy has evolved with bony injuries being treated by surgeons addressing facial bone fractures whilst the Oculoplastic surgeons have dealt with both bony and soft tissue injuries.
Considering the complexity of the area, a multidisciplinary approach will be prudent in achieving good results. In this context a live surgical workshop of management of orbital and periorbital injuries with a multidisciplinary faculty involving Oculoplastic, Maxillofacial, ENT. and Plastic Surgeons will be a great platform to share knowledge, bounce ideas and discuss technicalities with associated challenges.
In order to improve technical skills additional skill stations like plating workshops, virtual surgical planning workshop, Navigation surgery workshop and if feasible cadaver dissection are also part of the course albeit requiring seperate registration on a first come first served basis.
Looking forward to your support and participation.
